No doubt, Evernote can and does occasionally lose data. I'm so sorry you have lost your deep work through Evernote. Always keep your own backups - one local copy and on a cloud so you can always recover your notes in the future no matter who fucks up.Īgain, I extend my deepest sympathies to you. Please do not completely trust any other cloud service either. Now instead of exporting an ENEX file, I export a JEX backup file every day. I recently abandoned Evernote Legacy and migrated all my notes to Joplin because I was informed by a very helpful user in this very subreddit that they may shut me out any time now. I used the legacy version of Evernote, and I would export the ENEX backup file once every day to two destinations: Which is why I never trusted Evernote or any other cloud service to keep them. I would be completely destroyed if my notes just disappeared. I consider it to be extremely precious, and it also serves as my way of venting to myself and dealing with my emotions without going to a therapist. I'm not writing a novel or anything but I constantly make new notes every day documenting my thoughts about my life. This is my worst nightmare and I extend my deepest sympathies to you.
